June 2013 - February 2014As the opening controller of the Marriott Milwaukee downtown, I was responsible for implementing systems and processes for the 205 room hotel with 9,000 SqFt of Meeting Space. The hotel has a Bar/Restaurant, In Room Dining Outlet, and a Fully Licensed Starbucks Outlet. Systems including building the complete list of charge codes in Full Service PMS, mapping from PMS to General Ledger accounts, CITY charge code and GL mapping. Additionally, I was responsible for the following: * Training the Accounting Staff on PMS, CITY, and Accounting systems including Lawson and Report Safe. * Implemented controls to manage risk and theft of company assets *Created processes to ensure compliance with GAAP, and internal audit standards * Trained staff on AP and AR functions *Coordinated between multiple departments and outlets process to ensure timely and accurate completion of posting transactions according to company policy
